Brief Overview

1. The rotary kiln is a type of rotary calcining kiln in the building materials equipment category, also commonly known as a rotary kiln. In the non-ferrous and ferrous metallurgical industries, iron, aluminum, copper, zinc, tin, nickel, tungsten, chromium and other metals use rotary kilns as smelting equipment for sintering and roasting ores, concentrates and intermediates. The technical performance and operation of the rotary kiln have an important impact on the quality, output and cost of the company's products.

3. Rotary kilns can be divided into cement kilns, metallurgical chemical kilns and lime kilns according to the different materials processed.

b. Metallurgical chemical kilns are mainly used for magnetization roasting of lean iron ore in steel plants in the metallurgical industry; oxidation roasting of chromium-nickel iron ore; roasting of high-aluminum vanadium ore in refractory plants and roasting of clinker and aluminum hydroxide in aluminum plants; and roasting of chromium ore sand and chromium ore powder and other minerals in chemical plants.

c. Lime kilns (i.e. active lime kilns) are used to roast active lime and light-burned dolomite for steel plants and ferroalloy plants.

Application:

1. In the building materials industry, rotary kilns are not only used to calcine cement clinker, but are also widely used in calcining clay, limestone, and slag drying processes. At the same time, in the production process of refractory materials, the use of rotary kilns to calcine raw materials can stabilize their size and increase their strength, and further process them into shape.

2. In the ore dressing process, by using a rotary kiln to magnetize and roast lean iron ore, the original iron skeleton with weak magnetism can be changed into an iron skeleton with strong adsorption performance, which is more conducive to subsequent physical separation operations.

3. In the field of chemical industry, rotary kilns are widely used in the preparation of soda and forging fertilizer products such as barium sulfide. This method has the advantages of low energy consumption, low electricity consumption, and the use of medium and low-grade nitrogen-containing wastewater resources.

4. "Two crushings and one high-temperature treatment" is a summary of the entire cement production process. "High-temperature treatment" refers to the process of forming finished cement (i.e. "embryo") by high temperature in the rotary kiln after crushing and preparing raw materials. Therefore, it can be said that the rotary kiln is one of the most core equipment in the cement plant.

5. From the perspective of environmental protection, the use of cement kilns to incinerate hazardous waste and garbage not only achieves reduction and harmlessness, but also uses waste as a renewable resource, saving the use of coal mines, etc.

6. In the calcination processing of new energy battery materials, the application of rotary kilns is also becoming more and more common, mainly including the calcination of raw materials and the recycling and cracking of batteries.
